What Bluebook is testing
WIC is the meaning of a word or phrase as used in the passage, and occasionally the most precise word to complete a sentence.
How it shows up
Craft and Structure is ~28%. These are fast if you substitute. They are slow if you pick the dictionary sense you memorized.
A method that survives Module 2
Cover the word. Predict a plain replacement from the sentence around it. Then match. Plug each choice into the sentence and read it out loud in your head. Tone is data: academic blurbs rarely want slangy or dramatic verbs.
Traps that look like knowledge
